I hope you enjoy visiting my web site. I’m still learning, still seeking. Although I do not know where my journey will take me, I’m not “lost” in the sense that I don’t know where I am. I know exactly where I am and where I stand on many ideas and issues. That I am learning and seeking means only that I enjoy exploring the world and universe.
I make no claims to have mastered anything. I might claim to be less ignorant than some people about some ideas and topics, but a master I’m not. I believe nobody has mastered all the facts and all there is to know, and that everybody has something to contribute. Humans live in a mighty big universe. Thoughtful observation demonstrates that the universe is not more complex than we know, but is more complex than we can know. Nobody has yet proven to me that anybody has gotten things just right. Including me—I’m just a front porch philosopher. If I have discovered anything in my journey I have recognized that the more I learn the more I realize how little I know; but refusing to open my eyes never will benefit me.
You may contact me if you want to chat or discuss something posted here at my web site. Understand, however, that this web site is a personal web site, meaning a labor of love. As a self-determining creature of free will you are free to agree or disagree with me. Of course, as a creature of free will and limited knowledge, I am free to change or adjust my beliefs. Indeed, the journey of life is mostly a process of continuing change and adaptation.
Therefore if you try to contact me merely to chat, I ask that you write without malice and threat. I enjoy rational discussions, but if you choose to write with venom and vindictiveness, I probably will not respond. Life is too short to start or continue another battle or war, and there are plenty of people who seem to already relish that role. Additionally, know that one of my goals is to promote peaceful coexistence using persuasion and cooperation, not force, coercion, and the threat of violence. I don’t mind if you disagree with me, but if we both abide by the principle of peaceful coexistence, then our discussions should be enjoyable.
Because this web site is a personal venture, I cannot guarantee how quickly I might respond to non-professional inquiries. I likely will try to respond to all reasonable and rational people, but like you I’m a creature with only 24 hours in a day.
